Upcoming Business Networking Event 12 Nov 2009 6.45-8.30am
Over the last few months, whilst being out and about with the 2025 duties, I have been talking and listening to small business owners, hearing their needs in relation to business growth and marketing;
I feel that by providing a friendly environment for networking, mentoring and being mentored we can address some of these issues. To facilitate this activity I have joined forces with Fred Gillen, a local Frankston businessman with a solid background in Information Technology and Marketing. Mindful of this we are holding our first Breakfast Meeting at the Frankston International Hotel, Nepean Highway, on Thursday 12th November, registration 6.45am. Enjoy a full cooked breakfast; be indulged, inspired and introduced to fresh ideas delivered in a unique manner. The event concludes at 8.30am sharp. The Can-Do way to start your day!
Looking forward to seeing you there, regards Chris Sayers

Our Future Leaders

Candid snap of Elisabeth Murdoh College finalists for Langwarrin Chamber of Commerce Scholarships shown with EMC Principal Mr Tim Harper & LCC President Chris Sayers
It was with great pleasure, as President of the Langwarrin Chamber of Commerce, to witness the high standard of the presentations student finalists gave; any community anywhere would be justly proud of these young future leaders of community, commerce and/or academia. It verified my belief that we can positively sow into the lives of our youth, and as a society eleviate the curent blight we are experiencing with anti-social behaviour.

What is East Ward?
East Ward is a 78 square kilometre area of the Frankston Local Government Area (LGA). There are 5 localities within this area: Carrum Downs (3201), Langwarrin (3910); Langwarrin South (3911); Skye (3977); Sandhurst (3977). There are three coucillors elected by the voters of East Ward, they along with 3 councillors from South West Ward and 3 from North West Ward form the Council.
Frankston City has 9 Councillors, one of whom is Mayor. At the 26 November 2005 election, Councillors were elected for a 3 year term. The Mayor is elected by fellow Councillors annually. Council’s next election will be held in November 2008 and that election and all future elections for all Victorian Council’s will be for a four year term.
Although there are 3 Councillors per ward for the 3 wards, Councillors are responsible for making decisions regarding the whole municipality. Frankston City shares its boundaries with City of Kingston, City of Casey, City of Greater Dandenong and Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.
School Principal – Neil Cunningham
As Principal of Belvedere Park Primary School in Seaford from 1997 to 2002. I was privileged to get to know Chris Sayers some 13 years ago. Chris always displays sound morals and ethics, I found Chris to be an active school community member with a strong heart for people. Chris is a person who always encourages others to become involved in their children’s education as it strengthens the school community thus improving the education opportunities for the students. Through this involvement Chris made many contacts in the Seaford community due to his strong community focus.
Since that time Chris’s desire for ensuring continual improvement in the City of Frankston has only grown stronger and his experience and expertise with the local community and commerce opportunities will ensure a strong experienced voice with a sound local knowledge.
Chris Sayers would bring to the Council an independent, reliable and committed voice who strives continually to improve the operation of local council, through his varied involvements, for the benefit of the Frankston community.

Carrum Downs Industrial Park Expo 28th Oct 2008
A large and diverse group of Local Business Owners took the opportunity to Showcase their businesses at the inaugural Carrum Downs Industrial Park Expo.
Chris Sayers spoke passionately about the importance of business people driving commercial aspects highlighted in the 2025 vision.
“The potential is here, with appropriate creative promotion and development, to build further on the foundations already laid. Now that Eastlink (the M3) is open and smart busues are on the road we can move the freight out and if we aren’t careful the talent too.”
Imagine if we could retain our skilled workers, and train more young people here.
Imagine living in a place which is able to employ its own residents; residents who can raise their families here, enjoy their leisure time in wonderful recreational areas, brilliant beaches and fabulous sports grounds, spend their earnings at local shops, thus adding to the viability of local business; which in turn employ more staff to cope with the demand. It is totally possible to achieve the 2025 vision.
The increased revenue raised by such an industrial park if properly re-invested in East Ward would supply the funds so badly needed to give us the residents of East Ward the necessary upgrades and increased facilities so desperately needed in the areas of sports clubs, facilities within parks, youth drop in centres, aquatic centres, that would be assessible to the entire community.
The only way East Ward will receive its just share of total revenue and available State and Federal Government Grants is by electing the right councillors.
“I bring to East Ward a PASSION and understanding of the whole ward gained by living in Carrum Downs, Skye and Langwarrin. I have a proven track record in the areas of management, organisational and practical skills together with an ability to sucessfully negotiate at all levels.” said Chris Sayers.
East Ward covers 2 State Seats divided by Cranbourne Road
MP Jude Perera Lower House Member for Cranbourne & MP Neale Burgess Lower House Member for Hastings
Community means everybody….
Daily from 6.30-9am volunteers prepare and serve a hearty breakfast for those who find themselves there, for one reason or another, to eat a meal. Whether down on their luck, or seeking a bit of company the positive friendly environment that the volunteers provide nurtures as well as nourishes. In my experience those volunteering gain much more than we give.
